Q: What are celestial bodies ?
Ans: Every object we see in the sky including our earth , moon  and sun , are called celestial bodies.

Q: What is meant by the solar system?
Ans: The sun and the nine planets make up the 'Family of the Sun'  or they called SOLAR SYSTEM. There are some other members in the family too. They are small celestial bodies revolving around the planets. They are called SATELLITES. So far forty nine satellites have been discovered in our solar system.

Q: Why is the Earth called a blue planet?
Ans: Because the earth is the only planet which contains water on it's surface. So when looks from space it is observed blue planet.

Q: Why do we see only one side of the Moon?
Ans: Because the Moon rotates on it's axis with the same speed of it's rotate around the Earth.And this situation know as synchronous rotation or tidal locking.

Q: Which planets rotate from east to west ?
Ans: The Venus and The Uranus rotate east to west as seen from above the north pole.

Q: Why does Mercury take less time in completing one revolution than the earth?
Ans: because it is near to Sun than the Earth.
